For the past year and a half I (Jenny) have had the privilege of contributing to an online arts and literary journal called This Great Society, otherwise known as TGS. The Society started out as a local Vancouver venture and has since gained a worldwide readership with contributors from all over. If you search the archives you will find this little treasure (and the original title) :
“A small grove massacred to the last ash,
An oak with heart-rot, give away the show;
This great society is going smash;
They cannot fool us with how fast they go,
How much they cost each other and the gods!
A culture is no better than its woods.”
